End of life care
Palliative and end of life care is a passion that Kerry has and this passion is filtered down to other members of staff. Kerry has her Degree in this subject and is passionate to ensure the needs of those with palliative or end of life needs are supported in all areas of their life so their spiritual, social, emotional, physical and mental aspects of their life are taken into account.
People have the right to choose where they wish to spend the last days of their lives. For many people this will be to remain at home in familiar surroundings. Committed2care provides essential domiciliary care and support to enable you and your family to make this choice. Committed2care's registered manager prides herself on her excellent knowledge and skills with palliative care and shares this within the team to ensure the highest standard of care is delivered.
We can design an end of life care plan with you and, where you wish it, your family or friends. Our domiciliary care service will then be tailored to meet your specific needs and preferences. We value and respect each person’s spirituality and their right to dignified care at this time of their lives.
Our team will work with health professionals and other people who are involved in your care and support to manage your symptoms, maintain your dignity and keep you as comfortable as possible.
Our trained and caring team will be with you every step of the way.
- Open and sensitive communication – our service user, families and friends are well informed about the range of options and resources available to them to be involved with care planning
- Care is delivered in a sensitive, person-centred way, taking account of circumstances, wishes and priorities of the service user, family and friends
- Our care assistants are fully trained in end of life care and are supported to develop further knowledge and skills
When faced with a life limiting disease or illness, we understand that most people would prefer to remain at home where they feel comfortable and in control. It is an emotional time for all involved and we’re here to support your loved ones and family through our bespoke end of life at home services. This includes:
- Symptom management
- Oral care
- Mindfulness and relaxation
- Loss, grief and bereavement advice
Our carers and team also work extremely closely with other parties including doctors, nurses and social workers, to offer end of life care.
You can be assured that your loved one is in safe hands at this time of their life.
